Event details: Puerto Rican Matinee: Contemporary Films from the Island ...
Description
The Smithsonian Latino Center presents two films from Puerto Rico that reflect the political, social, and economic changes taking place on the island.
1-2 PM: La Isla Chatarra (2007, in Spanish with English subtitles, directed by Karen Rossi) An award-winning documentary highlighting Puerto Rican car culture.
3-5 PM: Angela (2007, in Spanish with English subtitles, directed by and starring Jacobo Morales) A political thriller about dirty cops and a framed leftist university professor.
