The National Museum of African Art is a museum that is part of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.. Located on the National Mall, the museum specializes in African art and culture. The museum started as a private collection and became part of the Smithsonian in 1979. Its main entrance is situated off of the gardens in front of the Smithsonian Castle along Independence Avenue.Links
