Event details: Lecture - Three Movements in Architecture: Greek Revival
Description
Noted experts will discuss the physical characteristics of each movement and how culture, politics, and technical innovations are reflected in the architecture of those times. Then, receive information on how to give friends and family a self-guided tour of local examples.
In the second half of the 18th century, a bawdy English men’s club sponsored a series of architectural treatises that changed the face of architecture in the western world. Architect Warren Cox, FAIA, Hartman Cox, discusses the resulting Greek Revival movement and its impact in America.
