Join us for our Culture Talk over Latino cuisine to celebrate the Latino Cultural Heritage! Our Goal: To help all of us learn from each other and cherish the differences through dialogs, in turn we can offer positive contributions to one another and make our world a better place for all of us!! Group Discussions: While enjoying the delicious ethnic cuisine, all participants are encouraged to discuss your knowledge of the culture being presented, and/or otherwise bring your research materials to help us better understand many aspects of the culture. Discussion topics: Body languages, traditions/customs, family systems, etc. The Venue - Grill From Ipanema: Steps from the heart of Adams Morgan, this famous spot serves up a lengthy menu of authentic Brazilian dishes. Spicy conch soup, Bahia-style stews, steak and killer caipirinhas make this a great birthday spot or date spot for those with extra cash. A sizzling Brazilian dining choice, it's witty, chic and delicious. The caipirinhas make you feel young, beautiful and on vacation. The restaurant management reminds me that ALL restaurant patrons are expected to purchase meals, while using their venue for any events, in order not to incur losses from the "anticipated" profits. Please bear in mind that the restaurant is a for-profit entity, NOT a public domain, such as public library, etc. In all honesty, their request is not excessive but reasonable. Reminder: You don't have to order the most expensive dish on the menu!! We're all mature professionals and will do the "right" thing. Thank you for your understanding. 2. Group Activity Contribution Fee: $1.00 pp/event (including Organizer & Guests). The accumulated fund will be used for any necessary group activity-related expenses, and the administration fees payable to Meetup.com (a for-profit entity) for keeping our group on an ACTIVE status!! Our Organizer is NOT compensated for her voluntary services dedicated to our group. 3. "YES" RSVPs - Confirmation Required By 6:00pm BEFORE the day of the event for a head count. If you are NOT 100% sure of your attendance after RSVPed "Yes", please change your RSVP to "No" by the deadline to give other members opportunities to sign up. A change to RSVP "No" AFTER the deadline is considered a "LATE CANCELLATION".
