Composer John Adams has written some of the iconic works of the last 25 years, especially operas: Nixon in China, The Death of Klinghoffer, El Niño, Doctor Atomic. Adams’s memoir is as felicitous and inventive as his music. (Nonesuch Records has released a companion 2-CD compilation of his works, also titled Hallelujah Junction.)
