Memphis Bleek was one of the first artists signed to Roc-A-Fella Records, as protege to long time friend, Jay-Z. He appeared on the Jay-Z Albums Reasonable Doubt, In My Lifetime Vol. 1, Vol. 2... Hard Knock Life, and The Dynasty: Roc La Familia. Bleeks first official appearance was Coming of Age from Reasonable Doubt. Verizon Center, managed by Washington Sports & Entertainment, LP, is home to the NBA’s Washington Wizards, the WNBA’s Washington Mystics, the NHL’s Washington Capitals, and the Georgetown Hoyas Men’s Basketball team.Located in the heart of Chinatown off of the Gallery-Place Chinatown Metro stop, Verizon Center is only a few steps away from the White House and hosts more than 220 events and concerts each year.
Since debuting in December of 1997, the state-of-the-art $200 million sports and entertainment facility has entertained over 21 million patrons with over 1,735 world class sporting events, concerts and family shows. Continuing the tradition as a downtown destination, Verizon Center will host the 2009 NCAA Division I Men’s Hockey Championships (Frozen Four) for the first time, in addition to the first and second rounds of the 2008 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball tournament for the third time.
Located within the arena are 110 luxury suites, 4 executive suites, and a variety of concession stands and restaurants offering menu choices from Hunan Chinatown to Papa John’s pizza to hot dogs and pretzels to crab cakes and deli sandwiches.
Additional amenities include the private Acela Club Restaurant for club seat and suite holders, the Johnny Walker Coaches Club (for Gold VIP season ticket holders), Dewar’s 12 Clubhouse (open to the public an hour before and after events), drinx.
