Introduction to Windsurfing & Beach Time!

UPDATE AUGUST 2nd: Due to the weather and the thunderstorms rolling through the area today we have had to cancel the windsurfing for this afternoon. We will let you know about the rescheduled date shortly. If you can not make the new date we will refund your money. UPDATE 7/31: Just wanted to touch base with those attending the windsurfing on Sunday. With thunderstorms in the forecast there is a chance that the event may be canceled. I am waiting to hear back from the outfitter about there procedure for this. Please make sure you check the event page Sunday morning to make sure the event is still happening. Join the Certified Windsurfing Instructors at Ultimate Watersports for a fun-filled afternoon of windsurfing lessons and some beach time! If you have always wanted to learn how to windsurf - or practice your skills - this is your chance!! Your group will learn the basics of Windsurfing from the oldest Certified Windsurfing School on the Chesapeake Bay! Relax afterward on our sunny beaches while enjoying great music and the pristine beauty of our water sports facility at Gunpowder Falls State Park. No previous windsurfing experience is necessary. Basic swimming skills are required. AMENITIES: at Gunpowder Falls State Park – Hammerman Area include: Ample and convenient parking New restrooms, changing rooms and showers Café / Snackbar Swimming Beaches ***Please note the class and beach is NOT appropriate for pets! DATE/TIME: Sunday, August 2nd, 2pm - 5pm. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before class time. WHAT TO BRING: Swimsuit Water Shoes/Booties -- want thin flexible soles. You can buy proper gear at the vendor for $20 pair - if needed. (NO sandals or flip flops!)
