Daily
has been a technology journalist for the last six years writing about
topics ranging from the business of online video delivery for
StreamingMedia.com to the possibilities of broadband applications for
KillerApp.com. For the last year he's been writing about the
development of apps, deployment of networks, and importance of policy
to these issues on his blog App-Rising.com. Daily is a leading advocate
for adopting a more proactive approach towards spurring the demand for
and use of broadband networks, arguing that it's time we move past
vague rhetoric and start putting these ideals into action.
Susan Fox, Vice President, Government Relations, Walt Disney
Fox represents Disney before the federal government, with a particular focus on the issues that affect Disneys media and online interests, including ABC, ESPN, Disney Channel and the ABC Cable Networks, and the Disney Interactive Media Group. Prior to her present position, Ms. Fox served as senior legal advisor to former FCC Chairman William Kennard as well as in a variety of capacities at the FCC, including advising the general counsel on constitutional issues and litigating cases on behalf of the FCC. Ms. Fox was an associate with the law firm of Hogan & Hartson, and a law clerk to Honorable H. Robert Mayer of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Neal Neuberger, Executive Director, Institute for e-Health Policy
Neal Neuberger is executive director of the Institute for e-Health Policy. The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society Foundation launched the institute in May 2008 to educate public- and private-sector stakeholders on e-health policy decisions. Neuberger has nearly 30 years of experience in government, health policy, regulatory analysis, program development and communications, and has been widely recognized since 1993 for his contributions to telecommunications policy applications in health care. He is chair of the American Telemedicine Association Policy Committee, and has served as a grant reviewer of telemedicine projects for federal agencies including the Department of Health and Human Service and the Department of Commerce.
Alan Shark, Executive Director, Public Technology Institute
Sharks
career has spanned over 25 years as a leader in the nonprofit
management and technology fields, with an emphasis on technology
applications for business and government. Dr. Shark served as president
and CEO of the American Mobile Telecommunications Association,
executive director of the Rural Broadband Coalition and president and
CEO of the Power Line Communications Association. He also founded the
International Wireless Telecommunications Association. Dr. Sharks
experience both balances and embraces the business, government,
education and technology sectors. His newest book is Beyond
e-Government & e-Democracy: a Global Perspective and he is working
on CIO Leadership for Cities & Counties: Emerging Trends &
Practices, due out in early 2009.
