Please join us as we celebrate the Inauguration of our 44th U.S. President, Barack H. Obama and honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr on his Holiday. The HBCU Inaugural Gala Ball will feature live performances by Jazz singer Alyson Williams and critically acclaimed soul singer Rahsaan Patterson, Special remarks by Dr. Leonard L. Haynes III Executive Director of the White House Initiative on HBCUs, open bar, heavy hors d'oeurves, and dancing. The HBCU Inaugural Gala Ball is for alumni, students, faculty/staff of Historically Black Colleges & Universities and anyone else who would like to join us in celebrating this momentous occasion. Though the HBCU Inaugural Gala Ball is an unofficial inaugural event, a special invitation will be sent to President-Elect Obama and his family, his Administration, and other prominent members of Congress. In the past, newly inaugurated presidents have been known to make appearances at a few unofficial inaugural balls but of course there are no guarantees. Tickets are required for attendance and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to charities that give scholarships to students who attend Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
