Step away from your busy life to indulge your inner food cravings. The Distinguished Men Cookin’ with the Deltas annual community fundraiser is just around the corner.
The Washington DC Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority in conjunction with the Washington, D.C. Alumnae Foundation, Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. defies the prevailing wisdom that low minority college graduation rates are regrettable but unavoidable with a community fundraiser aimed at creating scholarships and other academic programs for youth in the Nation’s Capitol.
From that secret pot-roast recipe to that famous velvet cake, distinguished men in the community are stepping away from their day jobs and dressing the part. Armed with ingenuity as their main tool, each volunteer chef will be transformed by this friendly competition as they showcase their home-grown culinary skills.
So, whether your favorite food is lemon chicken scaloppini, chocolate chip paradise pie - - or just good food in general - - there is probably a dish on the menu that exults its virtues. Eat, laugh and spice up your Saturday evening as you indulge with luxurious prizes, auction items and more than 50 different appetizer, entree and dessert samples.
This event is open to the public and tax-deductable contributions benefit community initiatives and academic scholarships in the Nation’s Capital.
• Advertisements range from $20 to $100
• Tickets are $35 each or $60 for patrons.
• Sponsorships range from $150 to $1000.
