Capital Area Food Bank - Thanksgiving Food Drive/volunteer day

Save the date: November 20th (between 6am and 6pm) The volunteering will take place in 3 hour shifts. The shifts are as follows: 6am-9am 9am-noon noon-3pm and 3pm-6pm. The event is being promoted by WHUR and will be a live broadcast from the Old Post Pavillion (12th & Penn, NW) ======================================== DC Sistagirls will team up with Capital Area Food Bank as volunteers for their annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. We are waiting for details from the Capital Area Food Bank regarding shift times and needs. Please be aware that we are currently limited to 15 volunteers. If there are more people interested than that, we will work something out with the organizers and try to accommodate everyone who is interested. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE... did I mention... PLEASE?? Please do not sign up for this event if you are unsure of your ability to commit the time to serve. This is a work day... and while this annual event is a big deal (sponsored by WHUR, etc.) it is more of a big deal that we show ourselves accountable and operate as women with integrity. Meaning... if you're not sure you can take the time off from work, please consider just showing moral support and/or dropping off some food for the food drive. Thanks....
