Description
Film: Breakfast At Tiffany's (1961) (114 min) American Classics: Page to Screen Film Serie Directed by Blake Edwards. In this Oscar-winning film adapted from Truman Capote's 1958 novella, writer Paul Varjak (George Peppard) moves into an apartment in New York and becomes fascinated with his neighbor Holly Golightly (Audrey Hepburn). Free; first come, first served Series continues Nov. 19 McEvoy Auditorium. Enter from G Street, inside bear to the left of the information booth and take the elevator down to the auditorium. Smithsonian American Art Museum/National Portrait Gallery McEvoy Auditorium: www.si.edu/visit/ Food option before: The Kogod Courtyard Café is open 11:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. The Courtyard Café offers casual dining year-round in the museums' new Robert and Arlene Kogod Courtyard, and provides a public gathering space in one of Washington's most vibrant neighborhoods. The Café offers a seasonal menu of American-inspired dishes, using local, organic or sustainable ingredients when possible. The menu includes soups, create-your-own salad entrees, sandwiches and panini, and a selection of antipasti with a focus on vegetarian offerings and premium meats. These items are available until 4 p.m. Gourmet desserts, creamery-made ice cream and healthy snacks, such as fruit and yogurt parfaits, also are available. Express offerings, called "Grab & Go," include pre-made sandwiches and salads; these items are available until 6:30 p.m. Coffee, espresso, beer and red and white wines also may be enjoyed in the cafe anytime. Free public wireless Internet access (Wi-Fi) is available throughout the Kogod Courtyard. How to find the group: After the film, I will stand outside the theater holding the book and a Meetup Sign. I will stand by the theater exit doors for 5 minutes, then we will walk over to Teaism for a bite to eat. Or meet us there. Teaism Cafe is on 8th Street, just a block north of the the Archieves Metro (yellow). Look for Meetup Sign on table, hopefully upstairs but we could be downstairs. Teaism Restaurant and Shop 400 8th Street NW, Washington, DC 20004 (202) 638-6010 http://www.teaism.com/Restaurant/PennQuarter7.html
