(2005, 82 min., Japanese with English subtitles, directed by Masahiro Kobayashi, Japan) When Yuko, a former volunteer aid worker, returns home after being taken hostage in Iraq, she does not receive a hero's welcome. Instead she is met with ostracism and shame. Inspired by true events, the film is a searing critique of cruelty and bullying in a small Japanese town. Masahiro Kobayashi is present for this program.
