8 Day Rome & Paris Trip

Meals and refreshments served on board. Day 2 Rome Morning arrival into Rome's Leonardo da Vinci Airport where you will be transferred to your hotel. The balance of day is at leisure so why not start sampling your first Roman cappuccino 'al fresco.' Day 3 Rome The included morning city tour features Rome's infinite aspects and eras. Drive through Via Cavour and see Piazza della Repubblica with Najads Fountain. Continue on Via Bissolati and Via Veneto (the 'Rodeo Drive' of Rome) and see Palazzo Margherita (seat of the American Embassy), Aurelian Walls (3rd century A.D.) and Piazza Barberini. Pass by the Quirinale Palace, residence of the President of the Italian Republic, then visit the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. Drive past Piazza Navona, Palace of Justice, Castel Sant' Angelo, via della Conciliazione and then visit St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City. Afternoon and evening are free for independent exploration. Day 4 Rome Today you may want to enjoy an optional excursion to Pompeii, Capri and idyllic Sorrento with their beautiful panoramic views of Mount Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples. Day 5 Rome/Paris Transfer to Rome's Leonardo da Vinci Airport for your flight to Paris' Charles de Gaulle Airport where you will be transferred to your selected hotel. After check-in at your hotel the balance of the day is free for starting to explore Paris, the magnificent capital of France. Paris remains ÂÂ- in spite of all the cliches ÂÂ- one of the most inspiring cities in the world. Paris is packed with cultural monuments, old and new. And even when you've viewed the city's magnificent sights, you'll find an unlimited supply of culture, art, nightlife, eateries and chic shopping experiences. Day 6 Paris Your included morning city tour features the Arc de Triomphe, Opera House, Madeleine, Louvre Museum, Champs-Elysees, and Notre Dame Cathedral. For the balance of the day, there are optional Seine cruises with Bateaux Parisien. Or for a panoramic view, you may also take an elevator to the third floor of the Eiffel Tower. There is so much to see and do in Paris, a city so aptly called the City of Lights, where exciting evening outings are a must. Day 7 Paris Paris has plenty of important sites to be seen, as well as some of the lesser known places like the Rodin museum, tucked away on a small side street near the Invalides, or the Musee de la Vie Romantique. You will also have enough time to venture out to the surrounding areas. A metro pass for zone 1-5 will get you to Versailles to visit the fabulous palace there, or take a guided tour to a number of cities including Chartres to visit its famous gothic cathedral. Day 8 Paris to USA (or extend your stay) Transfer from your hotel to Paris' Charles De Gaulle Airport on your return flight home. Meals and refreshments served on board. Same day arrival into USA.
