Stephen Dale Petit brings his breath taking, guitar slinging show to the north west.

“Petit is sheer class. This is incredible blues and way beyond”

Chris Hawkins – BBC 6

The highly acclaimed New Blues guitar slinger Stephen Dale Petit this month embarks on a punishing schedule of gigging, recording, producing and performing to back up a national UK tour and the late summer release of the follow-up to his Guitar Magazine 'Album of 2008' debut 'Guitararama'.

Lead single from Petit's sophomore set ‘The Crave' is a groundbreaking reworking of Albert King's 1967 chart classic on Stax 'As The Years Go Passing By' (which, interestingly, Eric Clapton has acknowledged as direct influence for the guitar riff in ‘Layla’). Petit’s powerful new version boasts a stunning arrangement by Mark Ronson & Amy Winehouse uber-arranger Chris Elliot and is remixed by Ian (Travis, Clash, Manics, Fall, RHCP etc...) Grimble and early indications are for a radio winner on its June 15th release.

Petit is currently putting the finishing touches to ‘The Crave' in Lincoln's hit factory Chapel Studios with the production team behind recent Arctic Monkeys, Editors and Kaiser Chiefs albums. Scheduled for an early September release through Universal.

‘Fans of early Black Keys should be forming an orderly queue as we speak’

The Rocker

May 2009 sees Petit on the road in the UK, accompanied by Mick Taylor - legendary Bluesbreaker/Rolling Stones guitarist (many say the power behind the greatest Stones incarnation). Coinciding with Universal Music's historic re-issue of Rolling Stones most classic albums - including the Taylor-inspired Sticky Fingers, Goats Head Soup and It’s Only Rock’n’Roll, the tour will visit.... and be backed up by massive local radio interview activity

And BBC Radio 2's Paul Jones Show will air an exclusive live session featuring Petit and Taylor on April 27th. In response to massive listener demand, the session is also being filmed and - a first - made available for viewing on Jones' Radio 2 web page.
