Taste and Rate

Several people have suggested getting together to have a competition style tasting. This Taste and Rate will have a dual purpose: 1) get feedback on your own brewing and 2) gain experience in judging beer. Those who would like to attend should plan on bringing 6 bottles (or equivalent) . We will all blindly sample each beer and rate them on the BJCP 50-point scale . This will not be an actual competition in the beginning so that new brewers don't feel too over-whelmed, and there will be no prizes outside of an ego boost. Please remember label all of your bottles in some distinct manner. For this first Taste and Rate, lets do a Nut Brown Ale (style 11c). This is an easy enough beer make. You are welcome to use kits, brew with extract or go all-grain. The only rule will be to follow the BJCP style guidelines. To mix things up, we'll also throw in a couple of commercial beers that match this style.
