Cape Henry Duathlon and Runfest

Date Saturday, November 21, 2009 @ 8:30 AM local time Brief Description Duathlon: 5K Run • 32 K Bike • 5k Run Runfest: 10 mile Run • 5K Run Race Time: • 10 Mile Run begins at 8:30 a.m. • Duathlon begins at 9:00 a.m. • 5K after duathlon wave starts Registration: There will be no race day registration for any event. Individuals may register at Packet Pick-up. All participants must pick-up their packets on Friday, November 20, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Virginia Beach United Methodist Church located at 212 19th Street, Virginia Beach. Non-USAT members must have purchased a one-day pass for $10.00 and have executed a waiver. Athletes will receive a pass to access Fort Story at Packet Pick-up. 10 Miler/5k Course Description The races, fully contained in Fort Story, are mixtures of hills and flat sections along a mostly paved course. Duathlon Course Description (500 competitor limit): The run course is a challenging 5K-paved looped course. The bike portion consists of three loops along Atlantic Ave within Fort Story and Shore Drive outside the Fort. The City has closed off two of the lanes on Shore Drive for the race Entry Fee Schedule: 10 Miler - $33 until Sept. 15th, $38 until Nov. 1st, $43 thereafter 5K - $25 until Sept. 15th, $30 until Nov. 1st, $35 thereafter Duathlon - Individual - USAT Member- $60 until Sept. 15th, $70 until Nov. 1st, $80 thereafter Duathlon - Individual - Non USAT Member- $70 until Sept. 15th, $80 until Nov. 1st, $90 thereafter Duathlon - Team Member - USAT Member- $46 until Sept. 15th, $51 until Nov. 1st, $56 thereafter Duathlon - Team Member - Non USAT Member- $56 until Sept. 15th, $61 until Nov. 1st, $66 thereafter Fort Story Access: All entrants must have a guest pass to access the Fort. To obtain access to Fort Story, you must enter through the East Gate of Fort Story located on Atlantic Avenue (near the intersection of Shore Drive and Atlantic Ave.) There are no exceptions. The West Gate will be closed that morning. All non-military entrants must have a guest pass. Guest passes will be handed out at packet pick-up.
