This show is to raise money for City Year, a non-profit organization to help keep children interested in school. From after school programs to tutoring, City Year focuses on making school fun, interesting, and having all the right tools to keep kids on the right track. Today's Tomorrow, Madrone, Derek Evry, and Accidents are proud to be apart of helping this organization out
Born in May of 2010, Accidents are a punk inspired band consisting of John Felter (vocals), Andrew Yonki (lead guitar), Nicole Morris (guitar), Dan Boyd (bass) and Paul Lefkowitz (drums). Their debut EP "Drowning" has received critical acclaim and has earned them credibility in the DC music scene as well as tons of new fans. Accidents are known for their energetic live shows and their hook-filled songs. With only one EP under their belt, they have loads more ground to cover and have no intentions of stopping any time soon.
Derek Evry is an Alternative/Pop/Rock songwriter from Arlington, Virginia. Derek has been writing and performing original music since 1999. Derek is currently preparing for the release of his third studio album, "Here's To Better Misery", which is due out on March 13, 2012.
Virginia's premiere unsigned rock act; MADRONE combine intricate riffs, earth shaking drums, driving bass, and impassioned vocals to form a sound unlike any other. In the 5 years the band has existed; Madrone has created an enveloping, inviting and massively intriguing sound. Mixing elements of hardcore, psychedelic and modern alternative rock within Madrone you find breakdowns as heavy as Lamb of God, multilayered guitars reminiscent of Pink Floyd and stadium-sized, fluid choruses.
Today's Tomorrow is a five-piece pop-punk band from Fairfax, VA. Fully formed in the summer of 2011, the band began making music in the hopes of spreading their artistic values to a wider audience. They released their first full-length album, "Love In Three Parts," on November 28, 2011. Primarily in a 90s pop-punk style with songs such as "Enter Sun" and "Love, Part 2," the band also aimed for an alternative- and pop-rock sound with songs such as "Country" and "Woah." Their current music is best compared to early Green Day and Boxcar Racer.
