The National Music Museum is located on the south edge of campus at the corner of Clark and Yale Streets. Parking is to the east of the building or south along Yale Street.

Founded in 1973 as an academic support unit of The University of South Dakota, the National Music Museum is one of the great institutions of its kind in the world. Its renowned collections, which include more than 10,000 American, European, and non-Western instruments from virtually all cultures and historical periods, are the most comprehensive anywhere. It is a National Treasure on the campus of The University of South Dakota.
