Hyde Park London is one of the Royal Parks of London, and one of the city's largest parks overall. In the 16th Century, the land was seized by King Henry VIII and used primarily for hunting. The royal presence in Hyde Park London is still in effect today, most notably in the form of the memorial fountain built in 2004 in honour of Diana, Princess of Wales.Because of its vastness, Hyde Park London is the ideal location for a variety of events; everything from concerts and sporting events to guided walks and kid-friendly activities feature on the Hyde Park events schedule throughout the year. Major music events including the London leg of the Live 8 concert series, and a Queen concert which attracted a record breaking crowd of 150 - 200,000 people, are often staged in Hyde Park London.The venue is also a popular filming destination.
