A Story of Courage and Heroism…. Two hundred years ago, seventeen-year-old Ann Harvey and her family saved 163 Irish emigrants from certain death –shipwrecked in stormy seas on the coast of Newfoundland. Today, Shallaway honours this young woman by bringing her story to the stage, with a cast of her peers, through the magic of opera.

Shallaway is an international award-winning youth choral ensemble from Newfoundland, Canada. Ann and Seamus: The Opera is a specially commissioned adaptation of the narrative poem by Kevin Major, who will accompany Shallaway to Ireland.
