Antone's has always been a great place to see hte best artists. From their inception back in the mid 1970's through several locations this venue has continued in no small part to be a launching place for major artists to spring from. I have had the pleasure of sitting in with Chris Duarte` and the Blue Monday Band on occasion and even headline their several times back in 1999 & 2000 before the release of my current CD and medical problems sidelined me for 5 years. I have and continue to frequent this venue for a number of acts that I enjoy seeing in Austin and from major bands that appear there on a regular basis. Fact is it just doen't get much better than Antone's when it comes to Blues legends, Southern Rockers, Country, & Reggae. From the Scabs & Bob Schnieder, Los Lonley Boys, Vallejo, Willie Nelson, The Flatlanders, & many other great bands like Guy Forsyth who play Antone's you just can't find much better entertainment anywhere in Austin. Not to be missed is their annual anniversary week bringing the best in Blues to town from artists who put this venue on the map.

Description
Antone's Nightclub, the first club on 6th street, opened its doors in the summer of 1975 with the great Clifton Chenier. The venue, now located at the corner of 5th and Lavaca Street, was founded by legendary promoter Clifford Antone and has hosted such blues "greats" as Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, John Lee Hooker, Pinetop Perkins, James Cotton and countless others.

Antone's has helped launch the careers of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmie Vaughan, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Los Lonely Boys, Ian Moore, and Bob Schneider just to name a few.

The stage at Antone's Nightcub has been graced by everyone from Bono & The Edge of U2, to Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, to Eric Clapton, to Dwight Yoakam to Bruce Willis and Elvis Costello.

This legendary venue has won countless awards, including numerous Austin Music Awards, as well as being named Nightclub of the Year by USA Today and the W.C. Handy Awards.

In July of 2006, Antone's Nightclub will celebrate its 31st Anniversary and is undeniably a major reason that Austin, Texas is considered The Live Music Captial of the World.

The venue is open to all ages and continues to offer unforgettable live music experiences as well as everlasting and powerful memories for everyone - both music lovers and the musicians themselves.
