Why Just Run #8 - North Shore Long Distance O Starts: First start at 10:00am, registration opens 9:30am. Courses There are three courses offered: Long: 13.5km, winning time 90 minutes. Water stop half way through. Medium: 8km, winning time 70 minutes. Beginner: 2-3km, suitable for beginners and children 14 and under. - The long and medium courses cross many roads. We therefore recommend children to run the beginner course as it will stay entirely within the park near the community centre. - The courses go through mostly residential areas as well as a number of parks scattered throughout North Vancouver. Directions The event will take place near the William Griffin community centre in North Vancouver. We will meet near the parking lot on the east side of the community centre just off Queen's Rd. Google map. Car: From the Upper Levels Highway, take exit 17: Westview Dr. and head northbound. Follow Westview for 400m, and turn left (westbound) on Queen's Rd. After 200m, turn left (southwards) into the parking lot on the east side of the community centre. Follow signs from the parking lot 50m into the woods. Transit: The community centre is serviced by bus #232 from Phibbs exhange, which stops on Queen's Rd. near the community centre, and #246 from Lonsdale Quay, which stops on Westview Dr. at Queen's Rd. Walk 400m west from this intersection. Pre-registration Please register before Saturday at 12 noon, so that I can print the correct number of maps.
