Have you ever wanted to learn how to grow your own fruit trees? Join Evergreen in this workshop about general fruit tree production – from how and where to plant your trees, what to plant, how fruit trees grow, long-term tree maintenance, and much more! If you’ve never worked with fruit trees before, this is a great place to start before attending our other tree workshops. The material covered will focus on apple trees, but will include other kinds of fruit as well.
This workshop will be taught by Kent Mullinix, Director, Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security at Kwantlen University’s Institute for Sustainable Horticulture. Depending on the weather, part of the workshop will be taught indoors, with a hands-on component at the end of the evening in Evergreen’s Urban Orchard on site. Refreshments will be provided.
For more information on the workshop series or Evergreen’s Urban Orchard, please contact Helen Beynon, Community Development Coordinator, at hbeynon@evergreen.ca or 604.689.0766 x.30
