Big Winter Kickoff at Mammoth - Join us for Opening Day !

Winter is almost here and we're planning on catching the first chair! Make your plans now to visit Mammoth for the Opening Day with this Special Meetup trip. This Big Winter Kickoff weekend will give you the chance to enjoy early season turns, live music & DJs, drink and bar food specials and a slew of movie premiers. Thursday, November 12 is Opening Day beginning with the First Chair and Banner Break-through Ceremony and complimentary hot chocolate and baked pastries! At 11 am we will swing by the sundeck for a champagne toast and live music that will go into the afternoon. After the lifts close, the Après party continues at the Yodler, with food, Red Bull drink specials, a DJ spinning and the MSP ski film premier, "In Deep". FREE Busses will run from Main Lodge to the Village until 7:00 pm! Friday, November 13 Come down to the Village for the Billabong/Transworld Premier of "Get Real" on the Big Screen! There will be pre-film entertainment and a ton of FREE giveaways! Party starts at 7:00pm. Saturday, November 14 The weekend finale on Saturday starts at 7:00 pm in The Village with 'Play Big Productions' snowboard film premier "Hot Laps", featuring the riders from the Mammoth Unbound pro team with their friends. 100% of the movie was filmed in Mammoth, showcasing an incredible amount of terrain on Mammoth Mountain and in the backcountry. With a DJ spinning on stage, a beer and drink garden and Mammoth Mountain giveaways, the party will be going off! Continue partying late into the evening at Canyon Lodge with a DJ, band and drink specials! Doors for the After Party open at 9:00 pm. Bus Transportation to and from the Village and Canyon Lodge will be available from 9:00 pm until 2:00 am. Travel Details: My plan is to drive up after work on Wednesday night. We can carpool and this will be discussed with participants as we get closer. We will spend Wednesday night in Bishop at the Motel 6. Thursday morning we'll drive up to the mountain to ski. Following skiing, we'll hang a t the famous Yodler bar before heading back down the hill to the Motel 6. NOTE: This is my usual hangout as it's very old school and quite cheap. Friday & Saturday is for skiing or boarding and Sunday we'll check out of the motel and ski for half a day before heading for home. I'm making the reservations to hold the Motel 6 rooms now and will take PayPal deposits from people that send a RSVP YES. Rooms will have two beds each and be for two people only as they are small. We'll be eating out daily, or you can bring a cooler of food and drink and leave it in your trunk. This again is the old school way of doing a ski trip!
