The second annual THRASH & BURN TOUR, presented by MUSICIAN’S FRIEND, in conjunction with NOS ENERGY DRINK, TRIPP NYC, and US MUSIC CORPORATION (Washburn Guitars, Randall Amplifiers and Eden Electronics), is set to run from July 24th through August 30th, 2009.
The THRASH & BURN TOUR will showcase a diverse mix of underground metal bands who draw from decades of Thrash, Punk, and Hardcore, to mold their 21st century sounds. Santa Barbara, California’s DEVIL DRIVER has been tapped to headline this year’s run.
THRASH & BURN TOUR organizer Mike Mowery comments “Once again we aim to provide an inexpensive day of metal, thrash, and hardcore. We’ve chosen bands that compliment each other very well, and we’ve diversified the lineup so there’s something for headbangers, shredders, moshers, and scenesters. Last year proved that a club tour of relevant, underground metal acts is something the fans want. Almost all of the bands on the tour have new releases coming out this summer, and that will provide their fans an opportunity to see their new songs performed live for the first time.” DEVIL DRIVER will be supported by EMMURE, Despised Icon, My Children My Bride, Veil of Maya, For The Fallen Dreams, Oceano, and Periphery. Several stops on the tour will see the addition of a special guest band, for a total of 10 national acts each night.
DEVIL DRIVER, whose new album “Pray for Villains” will be released July 14th on RoadRunner Records, has been tapped as this year’s headliner. Frontman Dez Fafara had this to say: “The time could not be better for DEVIL DRIVER and THRASH & BURN to come together to support the UNDERGROUND! We are elated to bring our first full headlining tour of major markets and combine it with THRASH & BURN’s pick of new, up and coming, heavy bands. Affordable tickets, combined a full package of amazing bands with a wide range of different styles and sounds, will make for an insanely killer time for those who come out to the shows. Raise your glasses; this will be a tour to remember! Hail.”

DevilDriver
Since they formed in 2002, DevilDriver have enjoyed a slow, steady career build. Their self-titled 2003 debut was a crushing introduction to a new breed of extremity, spearheaded by the distinctive vocal ferocity of front man, Dez Fafara.
