Get your kicks on Route 66, admire handmade grave markers in local cemeteries or learn about the Navajo Way of mystery writer Tony Hillerman in a series of monthly lectures given by scholars from the Arizona Humanities Council. Other topics include the art and music history of Arizona.
Join husband and wife team Richard and Sherry Mangum as they present Route 66 Across Arizona.
Route 66 is an important part of the heritage of the nation and Arizona. In the words of the famous song, Get Your Kicks on Route 66, "It winds from Chicago to LA, more than 2,000 miles all the way!" Some 385 of those miles were in Arizona.
This presentation takes the viewer on a nostalgic trip through Arizona by examining the history of "The Mother Road."
