Black & White: A Group Show

Works in black & white focus our attention on form and line, mood and meaning, rather than color. The artists in this group show each use the palette of black & white for particular reasons. Tim Diggles evokes the past – a pre-color television world – in his monotone ceramic constructions. Carson Fox trades in her signature candy-colors to create a floral bouquet of black cast resin, signifying the tension between life and death, and somberness and play-time. Ralph Iwamoto's black and white designs are a minimalist's exploration of positive and negative space. And Mark Pomilio, who explores spatial relationships, uses a basic palette of charcoal lines to convey the science behind his work.
