Description
with Entice , static Session, Polaris at Noon
The spirit of AV existed long before its musical manifestation. The members of this five-piece rock band: Brandon Turner (vocals), Matty Hoffman (lead guitar), Christopher Love (rythym guitar), Seven (bass), and Michael Castillo (drums), experienced the trials of growing up together eventually leading to their rise in the local music scene in Tucson, Arizona. Their strong musical bond provides the foundation for the AV sound and stage performance, which is strikingly professional given their relative youth. Performing together for over four years, AV is constantly striving for originality and uniqueness in songwriting and shows, and seeks to transcend the barriers of being defeated by a typical genre stereotype by truly writing from the heart and soul.
In September of 2008, AV released their first E.P., “BeLIEve Me,” an album suggesting that people should question what others sell to them as the truth, presented in a thought-provoking, classical-meets-modern approach to rock music. Since the release, AV has continued to play many local shows to increase their fan base, and has also been constantly writing new riffs, lyrics, and songs to collect more material for the next chance to spend time recording in the studio, hopefully as a signed, national act.
The technique and talent obvious at an AV show separates them from the local band collective. Each band member’s love and passion for music showcases their musical discipline and individual style, resulting in an eclectic combination of sound and fresh perspective to interpreting lyrics. It’s not all about the music; the band is also serious about their stage performance. The entire experience of AV live is both provocative and entertaining, and has been recognized by local promoters, earning them the privilege of sharing the stage with national bands like MxPx, Head Automatica, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Plain White T’s, Quietdrive, Madina Lake, A Change of Pace, and Versus the Mirror.Entice
ENTICE: ORANGE COUNTY REVEALS A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH.
Arising from the sweltering heat that has been burning down Los Angeles, one band seems to have the antidote. ENTICE, an Orange County based quartet has been turning heads with their appropriately titled album LET THE FIRE COME. The tracks carry over a relief of heavy, yet tranquil melodies that set the tone for a variety of publics to enjoy.
Recorded at Orange Crush Studio with producer Scott Silletta, LET THE FIRE COME exasperates the efforts of the hard working band and reaches a level of professionalism that promises to astonish even the toughest critics.
The self-proclaimed singles “The Watchman” and “Who’s Got Your Money” have gained Entice a spot amongst the Alternative and Active Rock-Pop genres. The songs carry through mature lyrics and notions that fall above love, lust and heartbreak. “The gentle rock melodies of Entice are a breath of fresh air in a superficial, plastic world that wants everything fast, hard, and loud” (www.Drivenfaroff.com). There is no question about these guys gaining support to potentially fit in with various radio formats. With every track out-doing the next, LET THE FIRE COME holds its weight in gold, yet Entice truly is all about the music. In accordance with the album release, all eleven songs are available for review via MySpace. It’s no contest; this meticulous foursome is working overtime to establish something they refer to as “building a legacy, an empire-undivided.”The static Session
