January Non-Profit of the Month: Michigan Ski for Light

Michigan Ski for Light, an affiliate of Ski for Light International, promotes and facilitates winter activities for the visually and mobility impaired. Our annual winter event is held in January at the RM MacMullen Center on the north side of Higgins Lake. This event provides the opportunity for many to learn a winter sport and share a great outdoor experience with old friends and new acquaintances. Michigan Ski for Light makes travel arrangements and provides on-site training in cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Some attendees receive financial assistance, and this may be their only opportunity to participate in winter sports.
