Description
Once a railway hostel on the edge of town, the Drake Hotel has undergone a $6 million facelift to transform it into one of the sleekest joints in town. Located on Queen St. W. amongst an array of trendy shops and hip art galleries, the Drake is home away from home for the creatively inclined. Complete with 19 crash pads, a European-influenced lounge, raw sushi bar, neighbourhood cafe, licensed rooftop patio, yoga studio, treatment room, restaurant and last, but not least - The Underground, it's everything an art lover could ask for.

The Underground is the lower level entertainment space designed to work with, not against its mix of performing artists, visual artists and live musicians. The high ceilings, excellent lighting and adaptable platform stage are ideal for both artists and spectators. The sound system is like no other, featuring two three-way bi-amplified stage speakers, suspended 10 feet above the stage, along with two 18" subwoofers that add a punch to the low-end bass. All of this makes for one great live performance.
