Chamber Annual Meeting and Dinner

Ring in the New Year at the Chamber Annual Meeting Start out the New Year at the Southern Midcoast Maine Chamber's Annual Meeting and Dinner! The event takes place at Thorne Dining Hall, on the campus of Bowdoin College, Brunswick, January 15, 2009, 4:30 to 8 p.m. The evening will begin with an energizing reception complete with cash bar. It's the perfect place for business networking. During the reception, attendees can meet with 20 members who will have displays of their goods and services at the Member-to-Member Exhibition. Our Guest Speaker is Matt Jacobson, President and CEO of Maine and Company. He will discuss one workforce development and its associated links to education. According to Jacobson, "To attract and retain quality companies who provide good jobs, we need more educated people. Our education system and our business community must work more closely." This is true not only for the industries that we hope to attract in the redevelopment of BNAS, but across the economic development landscape. All will enjoy a sit down dinner served tableside and prepared by the award winning Bowdoin College dining service. Entrees include Chicken Provencal and Polenta with Roasted Vegetables. The program includes the election of new Board Directors and Officers, and remarks by current Chair of the Board, Chad Schuman and incoming Chair, Earle Harvey and Heather Collins, President/Executive Director.
