Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) has announced a new monthly showcase featuring performing songwriters beginning Monday, June 29th, at Main Street Crossing in Tomball, TX. The showcase, named NSAI Songwriters In-the-Round, will be hosted by Connie Mims, Regional Workshop Coordinator for the NSAI Houston North Metro Chapter. Mims was recently named the 2009 Singer/Songwriter of the Year by the Academy of Texas Music. The showcase will be the last Monday of each month, with a different lineup of singer/songwriters each month. The showcase will consist of two shows, featuring a total of six performing songwriters, "in-the-round" style, a stage format made popular by the famous Bluebird Café in Nashville. The first show, from 7:30pm to 8:15pm, will feature three local songwriters, followed by the second show at 8:30pm featuring three regional and touring artists. Cover charge is $5.00. Main Street Crossing, located at 111 W. Main Street in historic Tomball, TX, has quickly become a popular venue with its dedication to being a listening room with ample sound, lighting and staging for the performers, as well as providing a comfortable ambiance for audiences, featuring a full dinner menu and wide selection of beverages and spirits. In addition to hosting this new monthly show, Main Street Crossing presents several live music shows each week with local to regional touring artists.
