L.L. Cooper is fronted by guitarist/singer-songwriter Larry Cooper, who has played with and produced numerous artists, including a three-year stint as lead guitarist and producer for perennial Houston fave and award winner Lisa Novak. Cooper has finally stepped up to the mic, delivering his songs with a deep Southeast Texas twang carrying equal parts sarcasm and sincerity. L.L. Cooper's debut release "Old Hardin Store Road" was released in May 2007, picking up excellent reviews in the Houston Chronicle, and in December made the Chronicle's list as one of the "Top Ten Discs of 2007". In addition, the record picked up great reviews in ENVY Magazine, and in the forever fussy Houston Press, where the band managed to garner 2007 award nominations as "Best New Act" and "Best Traditional Rock". After thriving at the toughest venues in the ultra-jaded Houston inner-loop scene, the band is now expanding their performance schedule to include Austin and other Texas markets.
