      King Wamba Carnival Parade

Toledo's Historic Old West End celebrates the beginning of summer with its 37th annual King Wamba Carnival Parade and Festival. This spectacular event pays homage to Toledo's grand, but short lived, Mardi Gras festival of 1909.

Praised as "Toledo's Best and Most Eccentric Parade" by the readers of the Toledo City Paper, the event promises to be a great attraction and is becoming one of Toledo's highly anticipated events with fun for the whole family. Participants in this event will include the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, The Glass City Roller Derby Girls, local bands, floats, creatively decorated art cars, costumed performers and visual and performance artists.

Starting at Collins Street, the parade follows Robinwood Avenue South to Bancroft Avenue, Bancroft East to Scottwood Avenue, Scottwood South, ending at Floyd Street.

12:00 p.m. - The King Wamba and Queen Sancha Coronation Ceremony with a special presentation by the Toledo Symphony Orchestra and Mayor Carty Finkbeiner.
