The Conversation

"5 stars (highest rating) Devastatingly brilliant!" - Time Out

Francis Ford Coppola's "kakaesque" masterpiece, The Conversation ranks as one of greatest paranoid thrillers in the history of cinema, and deals with issues of privacy and technology that still resonate today. Sandwiched in between his two massively successful Godfather films, The Conversation cemented Coppola's reputation as THE great filmmaker of his time. The film won the Grand Prix at the 1974 Cannes Film Festival, and was nominated for 3 Oscars. It stars Gene Hackman in one of his most introspective performances.

Tetro

"The creation of a director who, having recently turned 70, has set off on a new adventure...a sign of vigorous artistic renewal." - The New York Times

"It feels good to see Coppola back in form." - Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times

"Tetro is Coppola's best film since Apocalypse Now." -The Toronto Globe & Mail

Francis Ford Coppola's first film based on his own original screenplay since The Conversation in 1974, Tetro is about the tensions within an Italian immigrant family living in Argentina. Vincent Gallo plays the title character, a writer; Alden Ehrenreich is his younger brother; Maribel VerdĂș is his girlfriend; Klaus Maria Brandauer is the formidable paterfamilas.
