Confused about the college search and admissions process?  Unsure of how to advise your children?  Gain an in-depth understanding of today's college admissions by attending:        College Unraveled— a parent’s guide to today’s college admissions Join Independent Educational Consultants Gail Grand and Hilary Lefitz as they unravel the mysteries behind the college search and application process.  College Unraveled focuses on the ways parents of incoming ninth through eleventh grade students can best assist their children in making future educational plans. In this four-part, adults-only series, each session concentrates on a vital part of the process.  You can choose to attend any or all of the sessions.  The workshops focus on: 1.    College Admissions Today - an overview of the changing landscape.  We'll address options in post-secondary education, the realities of admissions today, selectivity, the role of athletics, ways to help your child become a competitive applicant 2.    The College Search – There are over 3500 4-year colleges in the US.  We'll talk about finding the schools that fit, campus visits, crafting a college list 3.    The Application Process – With the proliferation of application types (Coalition app, Common app, State apps, UC app), we'll address which application to use and when to apply, essays and recommendations, how admissions decisions are made, tests, tests and more tests 4.    Paying for College – With 4-year costs as high as $300,000, we'll focus on merit scholarships and need-based financial aid; athletics and financial aid; making college affordable Join us and find out why 100% of families who’ve taken one of the nine earlier series have recommended these workshops to their friends.  Attendees will receive a manual that will guide them throughout the college search and application process. To ensure that parents get the most out of these workshops, participation is limited to the first twenty-five families who reserve a place. The spring 2019 workshops will be held on four consecutive Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30 pm. Join us for wine and wisdom at the North Ranch Community Center on March 20th, 27th, April 3rd  and 10th. Sign up below for one or more of the sessions. For more information call 818-263-7536.
