Sunday Coffee for Creatives

We will occasionally be visiting some other coffee shops in the area too, so please note the location! This week we are meeting at Hob Nob's Coffee House in Phoenix, and it is near the lightrail:) Bring some stuff to show us or talk about: Artists you're interested in, work you have created in the past or are currently working on, whatever you want, it's up to you. Just come ready to talk about art and your interests and anything really.... This is a very informal, casual meetup, we're just getting to know each other and hang out at the coffee shop because that's what makes me happy, friends who like art and coffee! So, let's 1) talk about and share some of our artistic interests and inspirations, 2) show our past artworks and portfolios, and 3) ALSO have some fun and start working on some creative projects while we talk. I like it when there's more to do than just talk. I personally can sometimes be a little shy in groups, and this is what works for me. (Bring in whatever you want to play with (within reason &) as long as it won't leave a permanent mess.) In the future, you might bring in photo scraps or magazines for photo collaging. You might bring in found objects and random things and work on making some kind of miniature sculpture piece. You could bring in film strips and color or scratch or glue stuff onto it. I might even bring in my knitting and crocheting kits sometime. Any kind of art, craft, or creative project. Maybe bring in one of your photography/film/video cameras or digital art devices. Some of our members do animation or web and graphic art on computers. Some like to sketch and draw and paint. Some are interested in writing, and some have suggested we try collaborative writing and drawing games sometime. If you like origami, japanese calligraphy, henna body art or anything else creative, you could bring that in too! You can bring stuff to create or play with individually or as a group. This is all highly recommended, but not required. Don't be shy. Bring in what you want and make this meeting what you want. You could even maybe bring your guitar and play us some songs! I'm an organizer in name only. This meetup is going to be whatever you bring to it and make of it. I don't really want to have any rigidly structured group, I would prefer people bring in and talk about whatever they want to at the time...
