Event details: East Valley ACLU November Meetup
Description
This is the initial meet-up of this group so there no is firmly set agenda as of yet. We will be discussing up-coming civil rights events (Banned Book Week, Free Speech Week) and anniversaries of legislation including Constitution Day, Bill of Rights Day, Repeal Day, and begin some planning for possible events related to those. We will embrace our 1st Amendment rights of assembly and speech but mourn the loss of the 4th, 6th, 8th and 14th Amendments, but rally for their return. At times like these, when our Constitution is systematically being redacted and our Rights are quietly and subtly vanishing, it's time for us to begin pushing to get them back. Join like minded people who love the Bill of Rights and want to see it returned in its entirety. Conversation will be lively but civil, I'm sure. Hope to see you there.
