Due to the results of the poll, a majority of members said they would not mind paying a membership fee to help cover costs of Meetup.com. Most other groups on Meetup.com require a small membership fee to defray these costs. The meetup website offers many features the free one does not and it is more user friendly. It has also recruited a great many new members in the short time our meetup has been going on. In order to cover costs we will be requiring each member to pay $5.32 ($5 membership and the change is for transaction fees) for six months membership. This can be renewed every six months. Members will have 30 days after the date membership is due to pay the fee or they will be removed from the group to keep things fair for everyone that has paid. Please RSVP "Yes" when you have made your payment. I will be posting a record of the money received, the payments made to Meetup.com for continued use of the website, and any leftover funds will be donated to Corgi Aid in our group name. If anyone has questions about the accounting done please let me know. This will be a completely transparent process. Should there be a special situation where you are unable to pay the membership fee please e-mail me about it. It is not my wish to lose any members over the fee but at this time I am unable to pay for the site fees entirely on my own. It is less expensive to pay for Meetup.com on a six-months membership versus monthly anyway. Refunds will be given to members who, for whatever reason, are unable to attend any corgi meetup events any longer and request a refund of their membership.
