Chesney, the reigning Country Music Academy "Entertainer of the Year", was the only country artist to sell more than 1 million concert tickets in 2008, according to Billboard magazine. He had the sixth highest-grossing tour in the nation, coming in just behind stars like Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, and Celine Dion. It was the seventh consecutive year Chesney performed for more than 1 million fans, and his fourth winning the CMA's top honor.
Chesney has released 15 albums since 1994 - 11 of which have been certified gold or higher by the Recording Industry Association of America - and had more than 30 singles hit Bilboard's list of top ten country songs.
Chesney's songs focus on stories and emotions familiar to average people, giving his music an appeal that goes beyond country music fans. His list of hits includes "Summertime", "I Go Back", "Beer in Mexico", "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy", "Don't Blink", "I'm Alive", "Down The Road", "Better As A Memory" and Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven".
Chesney played to 17,303 people at the fairground's grandstand in 2007, breaking the previous record he'd set there in 2004.

Jake Owen
Jake Owen’s aim was true; unfortunately, one summer afternoon he suffered a career ending injury. That accident turned out to be a blessing in disguise. When he put down his golf clubs, he picked up a guitar, and a new plan emerged; one that would take him off the fairway and onto Music Row, bypassing—he admits--- many of the traditional steps along the route.

Contemporary country star Kenny Chesney didn't have the immediate breakout success that many of his peers enjoyed upon signing with major labels, but gradually built up a significant following via hard work, pop-friendly ballads, and a likable, average-guy persona. Chesney was born in Knoxville, TN, in 1968 and raised in the nearby small town of Luttrell, better known as the home of Chet Atkins.
