HUMAN NATURESET TO DAZZLE AUSTRALIAN AUDIENCES
WITH A NATIONAL SYMPHONY TOUR
“DIRECT FROM LAS VEGAS!”
Friday December 3, 2010 – Saturday December 18, 2010
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, AUGUST 8, 2010: Human Nature are set to return to Australian stages with a show directly inspired by the sounds, sights and their own experience of Las Vegas forming their 2010 Direct from Las Vegas! Australian Symphony Tour. Following in the footsteps of true musical legends; Elvis, Barry Manilow, the Rat Pack, Celine Dion and Cher, Human Nature have immersed themselves in the epicentre of one of the biggest entertainment capitals of the world, Las Vegas.
The group have created a concept for the tour that combine elements from their critically acclaimed Motown live show including the hits “Dancing In The Street”, “Reach Out” and “Just My Imagination”, along with “Wishes”, “Everytime You Cry” and “When You Say You Love Me” showcasing the unique harmony, pop sound that is synonymous with Human Nature, . The show will also feature songs from Human Nature’s forthcoming album which celebrates the iconic songs and entertainers to come out of Las Vegas over the past 40years, including songs such as “She’s A Lady” (Tom Jones), “Mandy”, “Could It Be Magic” (Barry Manilow), “Viva Las Vegas” and “A Little Less Conversation” Elvis and classics from Rat Pack such as “That’s Life”. The Symphony tour will be a lively 90 minutes of hits and memories that combines their US band and some of Australia’s finest Orchestral musicians.
Human Nature will take a three week break from their headlining residency in the ‘Human Nature’ Theatre at the Imperial Palace; “Smokey Robinson Presents Australia’s Human Nature – The Ultimate Celebration of Motown sound,” to return to their homeland for the upcoming national tour. Inspired by the great songs and the entertainers of Las Vegas who have gone before them, Human Nature have set foot in the iconic recording studio at the Palms Casino to lay down their upcoming album. Internationally renowned, uber producer Harvey Mason Jr (Jennifer Hudson, Whitney Houston, Britney Spears and Chris Brown) is working alongside Human Nature, producing the album.
Human Nature were last in Australia in December 2009 when they were joined by their mentor and friend, Smokey Robinson and Australian singing sensation, Jessica Mauboy, for a standalone Motown inspired concert at the Wyndham Estate, in the Hunter Valley. The Direct from Las Vegas! Australian Symphony Tour represents the first time in 3 years that Human Nature have embarked on a national Australian tour. Human Nature last performed around the country in 2007 with their ‘Dancing in the Street’ Arena tour.
“It’s exciting to be heading back home. Las Vegas has an incredible musical history and our new music is reflective of the spirit of Vegas and its musical legacy. It has a character and vibrancy distinctive of the fast pace and bright lights of Las Vegas and I hope our Australian fans will embrace it as much as we have.”
Since relocating to Las Vegas in early 2009, Human Nature have embraced Las Vegas and its culture and it appears that the gamble has paid off with their residency at the Imperial Palace extended until May 2010 via a lucrative deal with the Harrah’s Casino Group. The group recently received kudos from the Las Vegas Journal awarding them the tag of #1 Best Singers in Las Vegas and Mayor Oscar Goodman similarly recognised the impact Human Nature has had on the city, declaring May 11, 2010 Human Nature Day. It is clear the US audiences are embracing the Aussie exports and that Las Vegas is fast becoming Human Nature’s playground.
2009 marked another major milestone for Australia’s most successful male vocal group with Human Nature celebrating their 20th year together as a group. Since forming as a Doo Wop quartet in their late teens Human Nature have achieved an impressive 17 Top 40 hits and five Top 10 hits in a career spanning two decades.
The Direct from Las Vegas! Australian Symphony Tour will see Human Nature and their band accompanied by Australia’s most prestigious symphony orchestra musicians in each capital city. Human Nature will perform a selection of their classic hits including Wishes, Everytime You Cry and Cruel as well as the best from their various Motown albums and selections from their forthcoming Las Vegas record. The group previously performed with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and the West Australian Symphony Orchestra for a series of stellar shows in late 2008.
“What separates our Direct from Las Vegas! Australian Symphony Tour from anything we’ve done before is that our fans can expect to experience the flamboyance and energy that is synonymous with Vegas. Performing six nights a week has given us so much experience and we can’t wait to get back to our Aussie audiences and go for it.”
The Direct from Las Vegas! Australian Symphonies Tour will see Human Nature perform at the following Australian Venues throughout December 2010; Tickets on sale Monday August 16th through your local symphony. With a reputation for excellence, versatility and innovation the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is Australia’s internationally-acclaimed and oldest orchestra, founded in 1906. This fine Orchestra is renowned for its performances of the great symphonic masterworks with leading international and Australian artists. In 1986 the MSO toured nationally with Elton John’s ‘Tour de Force’ in what was a pioneering collaboration in Australia, paving the way for future performances with popular artists such as Harry Connick Jr. Ben Folds, Burt Bacharach, Roberta Flack, Meat Loaf and KISS bringing the sound of a symphony orchestra to wider more diverse audiences.
