FREE fortnightly Open Mic & Jazz/Latin Jam sessions - All musicians/singers/spectators welcome!
This super creative event has been consistently running since 2005 at El Rocco (Bar Me, Sydney) every fortnight on Monday.
Nights full of creative Jazz, Cuban son, Brazilian bossanova, a bit of blues, tango, Latin boleros, salsa, French chansons, and a little poetry and acapela!
Recent visits from professionals such as Jeanne Bastos, Wally Wrightman, Valda Marshall, Freddie Hill and Steve Clisby. There are photos from earlier sessions online!
It is free, runs not-for-profit and has been commented on by SMH and other media.
Upcoming 2009 dates (normally every fortnight on Monday):
20 Apr, 4+18 May, 1+15+29 Jun, 13+27 Jul, 10+24 Aug, 7+21 Sep, 5+19 Oct, 2+16+30 Nov, 14 Dec 2009: 8-11 pm
Starts normally at 8pm and finishes 11 pm sharp.
Singers/musicians bring: 3 copies of charts, own instrument (PA system, mikes and grand piano available at venue).
The night is supported by musicians Daniel Falero (guitar), Ed Rapo (bass), Pierre Della-Putta (drums), Rinske Geerlings (vocals, congas) and guest artists.
