Black Diamond, a.k.a. Robert Alexander Bombo was born in Voinjama City, Lofa County Republic of Liberia. At an early age, Robert attended the St. Joseph Catholic Mission School In voinjama as his parents moved to the United States. Robert was left in the care of his late Grand mother Kabeh Dedeh along with his younger brother Francis. When his country was devistated by civil war in 1989, Robert along with his Grand mother and younger brother took refuge in the neighboring country of Guinea.
