At this new extension of the Shaolin Center, students will learn either Kung Fu or Tai Chi--and as time progresses, optionally both. The benefits of these programs include: development of self-defense skills, reduced stress, strengthened and toned muscles, increased bone density, and improved balance and flexibility. Students in the Kung Fu program will start by learning the basic punches, stances, and kicks, followed by the necessary components of forms, their applications, and ways to escape from the most common grabs. Students in the Tai Chi program will start by learning the Yang Style 64 form, the I Chin Ching (a set of exercises used by the Shaolin monks of the past), and basic meditation. Both programs offer the opportunity for life long expansion of forms and skills. No prior experience is required and students will be allowed to move at their own pace in a close-knit, friendly environment. And the best part is, your first lesson is free!
