Alum Rock Hike- 6 Miles

Planning stage...... per your guys request. I am planning on this using Dhiren's summary(thank you Dhiren!) Please note: THE ACTUAL ADDRESS IS 15350 PENINTENCIA CREEK ROAD. But if you mapped to that, you would ended up in the middle of the park(we don't want that) You can park on the street or drive into the park and park at the first FREE parking(if you get there a little early!) We'll meet at the main entrance on Penintencia Creek Road (on the left side of this map) http://files.meetup.com/233171/SanJoseAlumRockParkMap.pdf Distance: 6 +/- Miles Elevation Gain: 1100 +/- Feet Difficulty: Moderate Duration: Approx. 3 hours ROUTE Parking Lot --> North Rim Trail --> Left on Todd Quick Trail --> Left on Weather Loop --> Left on North Rim Trail --> Right on Peintencia Creek Trail --> Parking Lot Please make sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen; You may also want to bring cameras, binoculars, snacks, etc. A Note on Difficulty:Please do not attempt this hike if you have not walked a similar distance on flat pavement within the last few weeks. Parking Fee: There is no parking fee in the first parking lot. NOTE: Since this is a free parking lot, it may be full, so please arrive little early to secure your spot. Directions: From 680 take Mckee Road east, turn left on White Road and then right on Penitencia Creek Road. Take this road all the way into the park and park in the FIRST PARKING LOT at the entrance.
