Star Gazing, Camping, and The Percied Meteor Shower

Let's go star gazing. This year's Percied Meteor Shower can be seen the best between August 11 and 13 from 11pm until dawn. Although the moon will brighten the sky some, we should still be able to see a nice show. We'll camp at Penrose Point State Park so we can watch the stars as long as we want. In the morning we'll have a pancake breakfast before heading back home. Bring your star chart, telescope, a blanket or lounge chair and warm clothes. Also, please bring money to help pay for the campsites and the pancake breakfast. A couple more campstoves, fry pans, and spatulas would be helpful. We've got sites 61 and 63 reserved for Friday night. We can fit a couple tents per campsite so we'll need to share tents. Check in is at 2:30 pm, come when you can. There is a $10 per extra vehicle fee so you might want to carpool. See you there
