For six special evenings (Dec. 11-13 and 18-20), Old Sturbridge Village is aglow with modern and historical decorations, explaining the history behind such holiday traditions as hanging stockings, exchanging presents, decorating trees, kissing under the mistletoe, roasting chestnuts, and expecting visits from Father Christmas (or Santa Claus). Enjoy a brisk sleigh ride (weather permitting), join others for carols around a bonfire on the Common, celebrate the season with performers from area churches, schools, and civic groups, and warm up by the Tavern fire with holiday stories and hot cider.
