Description
Landmark Center, one of the most photographed buildings in the Twin Cities, is truly a work of art serving people. Originally, it served as the Federal Court House, Post Office and Custom House until the mid-twentieth century, when it was vacated and listed for demolition. A group of determined citizens successfully fought to save the elegant building and, today, Landmark Center serves as a gathering place, where cultures and traditions are shared with all people through music, dance, theater, exhibition and forums.

The center is home to many venerable Twin Cities arts organizations, including the Minnesota Museum of American Art, which maintains its permanent collection and special exhibition area on second floor. Other public spaces include the gallery of the Ramsey County Historical Society, which highlights the history of Ramsey County, The Schubert Club Museum of Musical Instruments, the Gilman Ordway Manuscript Collection, and the Landmark Center Archive Gallery. SteppingStone Theatre for Youth Development presents its theatrical programs for children and by children in the F. K. Weyerhaeuser Auditorium on the lower level.

The main floor houses the Lovie's Cafe (open M-F 7 am to 3 pm) and LANDMARKET Gift Shop (open M-F 11 am - 3 pm). We invite you to visit this unique piece of our cultural heritage! Free public tours are offered Thursdays at 11 am and Sundays at 12 pm or by appointment.

Visit our web site at www.landmarkcenter.org to learn more about Landmark Center and to "walk" through its beautifully restored courtrooms and public spaces.
