Rock climbing is a sport in which participants climb up or across natural rock formations or man-made rock walls with the goal of reaching the summit of a formation or the endpoint of a pre-defined route. Rock climbing is a physically and mentally demanding sport - one that often tests a climber's strength, endurance, agility, and balance along with his or her mental control. Climbers work in pairs and utilize a system of ropes and anchors designed to catch falls. One person will proceed to climb while the other belays (manages and controls the safety rope attached to the climber). Upper Limits has an indoor main climbing area with approximately 10,000 square feet of sculpted climbing surface. At 35' tall, the main climbing area includes slab, aretes, roofs, dihedrals, cracks, and two massive arches. The gym has numerous routes from beginner climbs to routes that will challenge the most advanced climbers. All routes start with a "5" and are followed by a number from 1 - 15. The lowest numbers are the easiest routes. A 5.6 is an easy route. A 5.10 is a hard route. A 5.15 is like sticking to the bottom of a glass ceiling.
